Meet Raymond Leyland, LMFT
EMDR Therapist

After serving a three year term in the United States Army and receiving an Honorable Discharge, I went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Vanguard University and a Master’s Degree in Theology from Fuller Seminary. While working on my Masters in Psychology and since graduating in 2002 I became a mental health practitioner and have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2008. In 2018, upon seeing first hand the great need for trauma care, I sought out a more direct approach to trauma focused treatment. I received my verification certification as an EMDR-Therapist and have been an EMDR-practitioner since. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is an innovative therapy that re-programs the brain's response to adverse recollections of past traumatic memories. It is a well researched, evidence-based therapy that uses bilateral stimulation to help the brain alleviate the emotional distress associated with those memories.

Within my therapeutic career I have worked with a diverse client base (male, female, children, adolescents and the elderly) and I have worked with couples (pre-martial and marriage counseling). I have also worked with incarcerated youth in probation camps and provided community outreach work for children and families within their school and home settings. While working with such a diverse population,I have provided therapy for those who suffer from depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma and behavioral and relational impairments.
As a therapist, I utilize a compassionate holistic approach, integrating humanistic, philosophical and spiritual aspects that stem from my academic and experiential history. My intention and hope is to assist you in your journey toward your most authentic, and optimized self.
